Tanzania National Road Agency (TANROADS) is an Agency under the Ministry of Works and Transport that is responsible for the Development and Maintenance of Trunk and Regional Roads Networks together with Airports in Tanzania’s Mainland. It is also responsible for conducting Axle Load Control Operations using Weighbridge Scales.

The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) – Singida for and on behalf of the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania entered into a Contract for the Upgrading of Makongorosi – Rungwa – Itigi – Mkiwa (413km) to Bitumen Standard; Lot 7(A): Noranda – Itigi (Mlongoji) Section (25km).

To facilitate the execution of this project and strengthen its capacity of discharging its functions effectively, the Regional Manager – TANROADS Singida seeks to recruit qualified and competent Tanzanian citizens to fill various vacant posts on contract bases within the Region including weighbridge staff.

Apart from the professional qualifications requirements outlined in the positions, candidates to compete for the positions must be trustworthy, responsible, reliable, accountable, and with a degree of integrity.

POSITION TITLE: WEIGHBRIDGE CASHIER (1 POST)

Weighbridge Cashier shall conduct his/her duties at the weighbridge as per the road traffic (Maximum Weigh of Vehicles) Regulations, 2001;

He/She shall Collect and bank all weighbridge charges (fees) according to the weighbridge report form;

He/ She shall Seek current USD exchange rates issued by the Bank of Tanzania for the case of imposing charges that are equivalent to the Tanzania Shilling and keep exchange rate records;

He/ She shall timely fill all necessary records and keep the register area neat;

He/ She shall Report all matters to the shift in charge;

He/She shall undertake bank reconciliation, and

He/ She shall be performing other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the shift in charge and/or Regional Manager.

Weighbridge Cashier shall be a Holder of a Diploma in Accountancy;

He/She shall be Computer literate (at least a Certificate in Computer Applications from a recognized institution);

fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory and the Age limit is not above 35 years.
